You can see that the local panel only contains one, larger, compass for azimuth.  Elevation is shown at the top just to remind you if you forgot to lower your antenna before starting to do terrestrial work.

One way to control azimuth is to enter the desired heading in the field to the right of the compass and then click the 'Go AZ' button. When this is done the Go button will stay down and it's title will change to 'Stop'.  The antenna will start moving to the entered heading and the Go button will pop back up when the heading is reached.  You may click on the renamed stop button at any time if you wish to stop moving the antenna before the entered position is reached.

Another way is to use the mouse to click on the compass at the point where you want the antenna to go.  This will load the Go field with the clicked heading and you can then click the Go button to start movement.  If the "Move on Click' box is checked the antenna will start movement immediately when clicking the compass.

Another way is to enter a call sign or grid square in the fields below the compass. When you do that and then hit the enter key, the heading for the grid will be calculated and entered into the Go field.  Again you may click the Go button, or if Move on Click is checked the antenna will automatically start moving.

When you enter a grid, the azimuth, reverse azimuth, and distance are calculated and shown in the boxes.  If you enter a call sign, the call is looked up in the CALL3.TXT file.  If it is found the grid from the file is used and the save azimuth calculations are done.  Again, Move on Click will start moving the antenna immediately if the call sign look up is successful.  After a call sign lookup, the Edit button will appear to the right of the grid field.  Also, hovering the mouse over the Call field will bring up a pop up window showing all of the station data that is in Call3.txt for that station.

If the call sign look is not successful you will get a message box saying so and asking if you want to add that call to your file.  If you indicate that you do, the following dialog will open:

This dialog will also open if you click the 'Edit' button after a successful call sign lookup.  Here you can enter or change the various data about the station and then save it.  If you used the Edit button to get here then the saved data will replace the data in Call3.txt for that station.  If you are adding a new call, it will be placed into your Call3.txt file in alphabetical order.

Most of the fields should be self-explanatory.  The 'On EME' check box should be checked only if you know the station is active on EME.  The date can be in whatever format you wish to use. Normally this is the date of original entry, but you can change it to be the date of last revision if you wish.

Clicking the 'Mem' button, in the local control panel, will display a window having 12 memory buttons that you can configure to allow quick pointing to any station in the Call3.txt file, as shown.

Clicking on a button that has been set up will cause the antenna to move to that position (if the 'Move on Click' box is checked).  If the button is not set up, the call you entered in the local panel will be set to that memory button.  If you want to discard one of your memory positions then right-click on the box and it will revert to the 'not set' status and be available for a new usage.

You can leave the memory box up while using the local control panel, or close it after use, as you prefer.
